In what may be one of the most unique and amazing releases from Marusan in recent memory, this Godzilla serves as a commemorative sofubi release honoring the 100th anniversary of Marusan. Though the name "Marusan" won't be used until 1933, it was 1923 that marked the beginning of Naokichi Ishida's Ishida Manufacturing. Along with the change to Marusan Shoten a decade after its start, the company began its focus on toy cameras and binoculars - which eventually morphed into tin toys, then model kits, then, in the mid-late '60s, sofubi toys featuring kaiju.

To infuse the fun and energy of Marusan's legacy into this sculpt, Hideyuki Kobayashi - of Gojiban fame - brought his sculpting prowess and created a Godzilla that is silly, cute, and a true work of art.

Lastly, in recent years, most Marusan releases get the yozakura treatment - but this particular iteration of the "night cherry blossom" colorway is even more intricate, sporting suble gold applications along the base of dorsal spines and around the claws and toes. As with all yozakura releases, it has a powerful glow-in-the-dark feature.

The figure stands 10" tall and is 15" long.

Comes with original bag and header.

As of January 19th, this item has only been released in the Tokyu Hands Shibuya store.
